Future Ancestors Discovery Day

Rebuilding the Village Through Curiosity, Stewardship, and Community
Location: Future Ancestors Learning Center at the Balch Springs Library
What lives beneath our feet? How does water shape our communities? What stories can a landscape tell? What kind of future are we growing together?
Join us for a hands-on day of exploration at the Future Ancestors Learning Center, where curiosity, creativity, and community come together. Discovery Day features interactive exhibits, nature activities, community science, art, and opportunities to explore the hidden connections between people, place, and the living world.
We will be featuring educational exhibits with materials provided through the North Texas Master Naturalist program. Visitors may explore topics such as soil ecology, Blackland Prairie ecosystems, pollinator diversity, watershed awareness, native plants, and citizen science while participating in family-friendly activities designed to inspire wonder and stewardship.
Whether you’re interested in learning something new, creating nature-inspired art, discovering local wildlife, or simply spending time outdoors with neighbors, there’s something for everyone.
At its heart, Discovery Day is about rebuilding relationships… with the land, with our communities, with shared knowledge, and with future generations.
Come explore, create, learn, and imagine what we can grow together.
All ages welcome. Free to attend.
